The Crowborough Early Years Hub for Excellence brings together schools, preschools, childminders, Children's Centres, key partners and the Local Authority to work collaboratively in supporting the very best outcomes for young children across our local area.

Our aim is to create a welcoming network where early years professionals can share good practice, build strong relationships and keep up to date with the latest research, guidance and developments within the Early Years Foundation Stage. By learning from one another, we can continue to strengthen the quality of early education and ensure children experience the very best start to their learning journey.

Through regular collaboration, we strive to:

promote high-quality early years practice across all settings

improve outcomes for every child

support smooth and positive transitions between early years providers and schools

provide opportunities for practitioners to reflect, learn and grow together.

The Crowborough Early Years Hub serves schools and early years providers in Crowborough and the surrounding villages and is coordinated by Bethan Long and Laura Selby from Rotherfield Primary School.

Throughout the academic year, the Hub provides opportunities for practitioners to network, share effective practice, explore new guidance and research and discuss the opportunities and challenges within early years education.

Hub meetings and moderation sessions are held together during Terms 2, 4 and 6, in partnership with the Crowborough Moderation Group. These sessions include professional discussion, updates on current guidance and county priorities, alongside moderation activities that support consistency in assessment across our settings.

We warmly welcome all Early Years practitioners to join us, contribute their experiences and learn alongside colleagues from across the local area.
