Our School Council

The aim of the School Council

The School Council is a conduit providing a voice to all pupils, which is a fundamental ethos of the school. Issues raised by pupils, staff and parents can be discussed and responded to via the School Council forum.

What is the School Council?

 Each year, around September, our school runs an election campaign to vote for our new representatives. The School Council is made up of two members from each year group, who have been voted in by their classmates. The School Councillors represent the views of all the pupils in our school. We meet at least twice a term, our meetings are supported and overseen by the Headteacher and we have a direct line to the school senior leaders. Councillors are given the opportunity to speak at meetings about things their classes are interested in, and to convey their classmates’ opinions. The representatives’ role is also to report back to their classes the outcomes of any School Council meeting.
